Baking Valentine’s Day Dog Biscuits With Kids

Sharing is caring!

I’m not a cook, nor do I play one on television. Or better yet, on my blog. But the fun part about baking for your pets is it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s also a great way to teach children what pets can and should not eat. This was our rainy day of baking Valentine’s Day dog biscuits.

Please keep in mind, these are not for dogs with allergies or sensitive stomachs. It has peanut butter, eggs, and wheat. Feed to your dogs at your own discretion.

Peanut butter dog treats is the name of these. I got the recipe from inthekidskitchen.com.

Rigby and Kiddo aren’t so sure about this…

Kiddo had to comfort Rigby in his worry.

We didn’t do to bad…

While the cookies baked I was left to do this icing by myself.

This icing recipe was from thesugarfreediva.com. It’s 4 ingredients. I did not want to use food colorings, so I used raspberries instead. I don’t know if this is where my problem came…

Here came my problem, no matter how much corn starch I added, it would not thicken up. I tired adding more starch. I tried sticking it in the fridge for a bit. It was liquid. So, in the end, I just dunked the cookies in it and poured it on them. It didn’t taste horrible, maybe a tad starchy. Which probably wouldn’t of happened if I had given up and stopped adding the corn starch.

Rigby is now very worried about the outcome of his cookies. I stuck them in the fridge for a few minutes from here.

This was our cookie outcome… Maybe not the prettiest things, but how do the dogs like them?

The not-so-picky dogs say they’re great! They wanted to eat them all, but we saved a few. I would recommend feeding these sparingly, so as not to upset any tummies. I tried one, better than a dog treat…
